What is Single Entry Bond For?

  1. Single Entry Bond is to file Entry with US Customs only. It can only be use once, view the costs below.
  2. Single Entry Bond is to file Entry (claim) with US Customs, 1-5 days before shipment is in US Port or when shipment is in US Port
  3. If your shipment value is less then $2,500 or if it's your personal used items, Single Entry Bond is not required, but with some restrictions.
  4. If misleading/missing/incomplete documents (invoice, packing-list, BL and etc), US Customs can/will assess penalties/fines up-to $5,000 per shipment.
  5. If shipment is subject to Continuous Bond, fill-up the continuous bond application form.

Why should I file Continuous Bond instead of Single Entry Bond?

  1. If you are subject to file Continuous Bond, it will eliminates Single ISF Bond and LATE ISF Bond.  and Single Entry Bond for next 365 days.
  2. It takes 5-8 working days (2 weeks) to apply for Continuous Bond and to be approved by us/US Customs (CBP).
  3. If you are planning to import more then 3 or times within next 365 days or shipment value is over $30,000, you should apply for continuous bond.
  4. If shipment is subject to FDA, USDA, Lacey-Act, FWS or any US Government Agencies, ADD/CVD, Hazard, Trademark, Patent and etc. You should apply for Continuous Bond.
  5. If your shipment is subject to exam (ADD / CVD , Hazard and etc.,.) It is possible for surety bond company to reject the applicate.
  6. US Customs / US Government Agencies / Surety Bond Company can Cancel / Terminate your bond, any time, any where and for any reason.
